Fluke Networks is incorporating Ekahau's Wi-Fi site survey technology
to create planning and measurement tools for testing 802.11 coverage
and performance.

The jointly developed InterpretAir WLAN Survey software was
created to help networking engineers who design and optimize Wi-Fi
networks for applications such as Voice over WLAN (VoWLAN) and other
high-performance tasks. [...] Fluke Networks will be
integrating Ekahau technology into a range of new products that enable
installers to maximize WLAN performance at all stages of the wireless
network lifecycle, from planning and deployment through troubleshooting
and expansion.

Access point density and placement is critical to reliable WLAN support for wireless medical devices. After deployment testing is also important - site survey tools are, well, just tools - they are not an oracle that ensures optimal performance, but provide a good starting point. Integrating Ekahau's site survey tool into Fluke test equipment should make it easier to take the results of a site survey into the real world where AP deployment can be fine tuned and optimized.
