Since Peter Soderberg left Welch Allyn to run Hillenbrand Industries, Welch Allyn has been run by an office of the president comprising of 3 senior executives - Kevin Cahill, Doug Linquest and Steve Meyer. Today Welch Allyn announced the appointment of Julie Shimer (until today, the CEO of Vocera) as president and CEO. Shimer has served on Welch Allyn's board for the past 5 years, about as long as she's been CEO of Vocera. Vocera has done great under Shimer's leadership, growing to $12.5 million. Privately held Welch Allyn did around $600 million in 2006.
