Today, Criticare Systems announced they received the 510k for a new portable monitor (press release).
This new monitor is a product line platform with broad configurability
that is intended to sell world wide into multiple market segments. The
product is expected to be launched during the current fiscal quarter
(by the end of September?).

You may recall
this past June when Criticare announced that their largest OEM
customer, Alaris, would no longer sell their vital signs monitor.
Criticare's latest 10q (March 31, 2005)
reports net sales of $18,760,733 for the nine months year to date, down
14.4% from last year. They had a 30% decrease in unit shipped that was
partially offset by a bump in average sales price (ASP) and accessory
sales. Their gross margin fell from 41.4% in the same period in 2004 to
39.5% for the current period. Operating expenses are also down, mostly
due to lowered commissions from fewer sales.

Criticare offers a number of wireless patient monitors (using 802.11
FHSS). No word on connectivity features for this new product.
